Most Versatile London Venue (1000 attendees or less)
Dating from 1924, Cafe de Paris is a legendary nightclub and keeping up its reputation after 93 years in the business is not easy but is something that drives the team every single day to deliver world class events for its customers.
This perfectly maintained Grade II listed building is complete with stunning sweeping staircases, dazzling chandeliers and many of its 1924 original features and although bombed in 1941 during the Second World War, not even that could stop us! Rich velvet panels adorn the walls, a high polished dance floor and 3 secret rooms including a boudoir all go to make up this historic venue.
The style of the venue makes it an ideal for all manner of events. Whether it is a themed event such as Casino, Cabaret, Burlesque, Can Can, !920’s. 1940’s, 1950’s 1980’s, Circus, Winter Wonderland or Masquerade Ball to name but a few, these themes are all easy to make work in the space without having to spend a fortune of production if you don’t have the budget.
There’s no such thing as an off-the-peg event at Carousel. At the heart of everything we do is the belief that every enquiry deserves the bespoke treatment. That means options, and lots of them. With six spaces to choose from, we run events across multiple floors, indoors and out. Carousel is like a Rubik’s Cube, offering endless combinations, from simple blank canvas set-ups to show-stopping brand activations. Each space is equipped with its own flexible lighting rig and high-spec AV, plus there’s A/C throughout, not one but two professional kitchens, off-street parking and easy loading. Food and drink is where we really come into our own – our team excels at creating imaginative menus for the likes of Tabasco – but it’s our ‘how else can we help?’ approach that transforms a straightforward awards ceremony, say, into an ambitious immersive set build featuring a fully functioning sauna. We have the creativity, the production know-how and the personnel to translate even the most imaginative ideas into real life experiences, and that’s what sets us apart from the crowd. Offering excellent value for money, Carousel isn’t just a venue, it’s a one-of-a-kind creative hub rotating on an axis of variety and versatility.
For ten years, we have been quietly and progressively improving every aspect of our operation. The team who launched the venue still run the venue. We are proud of what we have achieved. Ten years of growth, ten years of ever improving customer feedback, ten years of flexibility and versatility all leading to more repeat customers.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) was founded in 1834 for the ‘advancement of architecture’. Its current headquarters was built in 1934 and the training and entertaining spaces have been used as a venue for over 20 years.
With contemporary and Art Deco design, three terraces and fantastic views of London, the light-flooded building represents the best of British architecture.
Working within Grade 2* listing constraints, a museum-quality gallery was added to the building in 2014 to allow guests to explore architecture as part of events. The venue’s Jarvis Auditorium also doubled its conference capacity to 400 delegates with refreshments served in the iconic Florence Hall.
Befitting RIBA’s role as the leading architectural professional body, the venue has some of the finest facilities in London for high-level meetings, conferences, receptions and dinners.
66 Portland Place, RIBA’s flagship venue, is also a popular filming location due to its world-renowned architecture and original features such as the frames of the 1930’s chairs in the Jarvis Suite.
