The RHN is a charity, independent from the NHS but working closely with it, to provide the best possible care for people living with neuro-disability. Founded in 1854, we are a well-respected charitable hospital and research centre.
We care for over 200 adults living with the most complex and profound neurological disabilities. Brain injuries can happen to anyone at any time, mostly through common misfortune; things like sports injuries, falling down stairs, being hit by a vehicle, assault or for medical reasons such as an asthma attack or a stroke.
The multi-disciplinary team at the RHN work to improve the quality of life experienced by patients and residents at the RHN, and to help people become more mobile and to regain independence.
As a charity we provide a wide range of therapies, services and equipment not funded through referrers’ fees. These services such as Music Therapy, Therapeutic Art and Leisure and Family Services can make a huge difference to patients and their families, and can play a vital role in rehabilitation and overall quality of life.
