Tamesis Dock

Tamesis Dock, a 1930’s Dutch Barge, has been a joint collaboration between a brother and sister team Neither had any hospitality experience however they had some boat- building experience and a vision that the river was an under-utilised opportunity

They found Tamesis (formerly known as The English Maid) in a run down and degrading state but in an area that they believed was developing and with views that were unrivalled Throughout the years it’s been a project that has constantly been upgraded and developed almost solely by the staff who have worked with her

Apart from her shell everything else has been renovated from the plumbing and electrics to the decking, bar and bathrooms almost all done by the team who have been trained in-house and who’s skills have been developed as a result

We have a wide range of customers from both locally to afar The eclectic nature of the boat draws an eclectic crowd but the one thing they all have in common is that they are friendly and open. We have had several first dates that have resulted in marriage and often you will see customers talk to strangers all because the boat makes you feel connected.
