VENUE OF THE YEAR
art’otel London Battersea Power Station
art’otel London Battersea Power Station is an arts and premium lifestyle hotel devoted to creating and presenting original work. Unlike hotels with décor art, art’otel invites guests to create art, interact and immerse themselves in the arts, not just to view. Each art’otel is nspired by a dedicated Signature Artist, a talented artist that has applied their unique style and character to the look and feel of the hotel. Jaime Hayon was an ideal multi-disciplined artist with a bold and colourful style perfectly suited to represent art’otel London Battersea Power Station and the centre of a new cultural quarter.
With the start of the year still affected by the global pandemic, 2022 and beyond proved both an exciting and challenging one for the events industry and ExCeL London.
Nevertheless, ExCeL ambitiously staged 350 diverse events in just 10 months during 2022, welcoming more than three million visitors.
It also continued its goal of championing sustainability and innovation within the industry, investing hundreds of millions in venue infrastructure – including a 25,000sqm expansion project – and achieved a 91% satisfaction rating amongst organisers.
Together with 16 new event launches and a further dozen relocated from other venues, 2023 is now set to become the new benchmark for success for ExCeL, particular as it is already tracking 10% higher than its previous all-time record (set in 2019).
Everyone at ExCeL is immensely proud of the work they do to ensure the venue remains one of the leading in the UK.
